Progress update on the game


Hey there everyone!

It's been a while since my last devlog post, so I wanted to make a new one just to let you guys know where I'm at with developing the game, and how much progress I have made since the last demo update.

Currently, I am in the middle of developing the second stage for the game. I posted a screenshot of what the stage looks like a few weeks ago to get some feedback, and the response was great! I posted the screenshot over on my twitter, so if you missed it, here is the screenshot:

The stage is still in the early stages of development, as I have only completed a few rooms as of right now. Level design is by far the hardest thing for me, because making levels that are challenging but fun to play through at the same time is quite hard.

I have also made some small changes in the way the game works, just to make it feel better overall. For example, previously if you died in the game, you would respawn immediately and it looked kind of jarring. So I added a fade transition between dying and respawning to make it not so jarring and it looks so much better now! This, along with some other small changes to the game improve the game feel tremendously!

That is all for this devlog! I am working as much as I can on the game, however development is going a bit slower now. I am still aiming to finish and release the game this year, so lets hope I can hit that target :D
